Toowoon Bay Renovation Episode 7 – Upstairs Reveal

The race has been on since we started renovating to finish upstairs. But logically, other things exteriorly have taken priority – like replacing all the windows and a new roof! Progress has been happening since the day we got out of council so I’ve got absolutely nothing to complain about…BUT…as the thought of having a functioning kitchen, a shower with fall to the drain and a cupboard to put my clothes in draws closer, suddenly it couldn’t happen soon enough! So it’s all systems go!

With the kitchen cabinetry installed (Beachside Kitchens), the guys from Edstein Creative Stone have come to install the benchtops. We’ve chosen Silestone Blanco Orion in the polished texture. Plumbing fit off can now take place – and we’ve had a luxurious touch up our sleeve! A Zip HydroTap in the brushed gold finish – with instant boiling water! So handy! For all you safety buffs out there, don’t fret – it has a child safety mechanism!

It’s an exciting day when our wardrobes are installed to say the least. Our clothes have been stored downstairs, and demolition has well and truly begun – so they are getting dustier and dustier by the day. Not ideal! We’ve chosen a traditional ‘Shaker’ style door with mirror insert. We’ve also opted for a plain white, routed-out handle. The team from Affordable Wardrobes were great and we’re really happy with how they look.

We’ll be sharing room-by-room completed images and details over the next fortnight, starting with the kitchen. See the gallery here.
