Summer Entertaining : A light, fresh tablescape

Summer entertaining for us is all about easy, relaxed gatherings with effortless styling and food that feels as fresh as the season.

This tablescape was inspired by the soft painterly tones and natural textures of our Jardin tablecloths, placemats and napkins which set the foundation for this light, summery look. Their mix of subtle pattern and organic colour informed the entire palette, guiding everything from the layered ceramics to the fresh, seasonal produce on the table.

To keep the mood relaxed and inviting we paired the setting with a few simple dishes served on our Evora Platter – a rustic Brown Sugar Peach Cake with a bright lemon glaze, and a beautifully assembled Smoked Salmon Platter. Both are easy to prepare, visually beautiful and perfectly suited to long, warm afternoons shared with friends.

Smoked Salmon Platter

Assembled directly onto the Evora Platter for an elegant, summery graze.

Ingredients (metric)

  • Smoked salmon – 100 g
  • Cream cheese – 250 g
  • Capers – 10–15 g
  • Fresh dill – ~5 g
  • Red onion, finely diced – ~30 g
  • Lemon rind – from 1 lemon
  • Edible flowers – optional
  • Salt + pepper – to taste

Method

  1. Spread cream cheese on the Evora Platter using the back of a spoon to create rustic “divots.”
  2. Cut smoked salmon into teaspoon-sized pieces and arrange in the cream cheese.
  3. Garnish with capers, dill, and red onion.
  4. Finish with lemon rind, salt, pepper, and edible flowers.
